My journey with clay began in high school, at David Douglas, where on a whim, I opted to take the ceramics course, taught by the well renowned PNW potter Ron Linn. It was a quick and direct path to absolute fascination with the material.
As anyone who has thrown clay on the wheel knows, there are many struggles and barriers to jump over. But the skills I was taught and the process of getting around those road blocks only made me want to learn more and excel my craft.
So after four years under the tutelage of Ron and a "‘Best In Show” award for a state-wide high school art exhibit, I was able to call myself a novice ceramicist.
This experience has taught me the important steps to creating a final piece, as well as educate me on the fine details of an ancient art that fuels my passion for clay and creating ceramics.
Four years now into college and I still have an endless curiosity to discover, both in the materials I use to create ceramic art and the pursuit of excellence in the ceramic arts.
So with the help of Jonny Davenport, I’ve finally made a website to showcase some of these pieces.
